This project was for the Tyrolit Headquarters in Melbourne, which was an amazing opportunity for Geocrete. Tyrolit is the world’s largest surface preparation company and we got to do their floors! This was a huge excitement for us as a company, especially considering there are about 60 businesses they could have chosen from. Luckily, I have ten years of experience in the floor polishing business, and fourteen in the concrete industry as a whole, as well as initially earning a degree in Geology. This gives me a unique edge in my craft so I was not going to let them down.
The job itself was unusual because it had to be done in the shortest amount of time possible, before the Christmas shutdown ended. Tyrolit chose Bluestone with a standard grey base, which looked stunning and was very fitting for their company because of their role in the flooring industry. Apart from the time pressure, the job was a normal one and was completed without any problems. The project was filmed in a time lapse video which you can view here, which shows my equipment and I hard at work, as well as the process itself. The job was a real success and the client liked the finished job so much that Geocrete appeared in the Tyrolit Newsletter for 2014, with an entire article on the final polished floor.
