Awe-inspiring Geoshine™ floor thrills Phillip Island clients
A Phillip Island family are thrilled with the “life-changing” transformation of their beach-front home, thanks to a stunning new Geoshine™ floor by Victorian polished concreting specialist Paul Warner.
Well-known Phillip Island surfing identities, the Laings, were “most disappointed” when their dream home was spoilt by a mediocre concrete polishing job. “What should have been the home’s highlight ended up as its most depressing feature,”Geocrete’s Paul Warner said.
Thankfully, Richie and Di’s neighbour recommended Paul to them, as Paul had created a breath-taking floor at his house in Black Rock.
Paul then undertook the mammoth task of re-grinding and re-polishing the suspended slab beach house’s floor, all while the Laings were living in the house! “Polishing concrete is an extremely dirty and dusty job, so we worked huge hours to get the job done as quickly and as painlessly as possible. Normally I polish brand new concrete structural slabs, but this was a finished home with skirtings and appliances, which added an extra element of difficulty to the job.”
The Laings chose a gorgeous aggregate of quartz pebble in an off-white concrete base, ground to full stone exposure and polished to a brilliant high-gloss sheen. The floor is perfectly at home in its surf-front position: the beautiful browns, greys and cream colours of the quartzite appear as though they have been plucked straight from the beach.
Paul said the floor’s transformation was remarkable. “The original job had left the floor full of holes, heavy scratches, and with a dull sheen. It was beautiful to see the tears of happiness in Di’s eyes when she saw her freshly completed Geoshine™ floor.”
According to Di Laing, Paul “changed our lives”.
