High gloss Geoshine™. Creswick white quartz with off-white cement with white oxide.
This is a particular favourite floor design of mine. The client asked for a High gloss Geoshine floor with a base of Creswick white quartz with off-white cement and white oxide, the resulting floor was phenomenal. It looked like something out of Hollywood. This specific floor is one of the most expensive we produce, it costs around $500-$600 per cubic metre to supply the concrete mix. Choosing the floor design is where the factor of cost really comes into play, because the polishing itself always costs the same per square metre no matter what the base is.
This was a project I distinctly remember because it was one of the largest projects we have done on a residential floor, it was 450 square meters of polished floor over the whole house. Every bedroom had an ensuite, and all the ensuites had shower bases that the client wanted polished, the concrete flooring just flowed into the shower itself and looked amazing. Within the house there were around 6-8 bedrooms plus offices, studies, computer rooms and the like; and the client also wanted the garage done as well. It was a lot of work, and at times it was quite difficult to do, not because of any technical difficulty but because of the natural beauty surrounding us, I often got distracted by the pristine rolling hills.
The project was a great success, the client loved the finished floors. The house looked wonderfully spacious, and certainly glamourous enough for any movie set.
